The river
Stóra-Laxá runs 90 km from Lake Grænavatn through dramatic volcanic canyons before it meets the glacial Hvítá, in the Hreppar valley of south Iceland — only ninety minutes from Keflavík airport.
We are a non-profit operation, and all profits go back into the health of the river — buying out nets, building better habitat for smolt and parr. It is fly-only and catch & release on all fish, fished two sessions a day so that both the angler and the river get a break.
Up to 12 rods a day across three sections, and a guide comes with your rod on the Lower and Upper water. Book direct here and add only what you actually want — a room and full board, a transfer from the airport, tackle if you would rather not travel with it.
